Public Talk – Seeing Urban Transformation through Old Photos, Maps and Brochures

by City Unseen

*This event will be conducted in Cantonese*

What can different sources tell us about the transformation of Hong Kong’s urban landscape over the last century?

Hong Kong has changed unrecognizably since our grandparents’ time, but different kinds of records, from wartime aerial reconnaisance and maps to street photography and real estate brochures can reveal the story of urban transformation.

Join City Unseen’s second ever summer talk featuring guest speakers who make it their profession to interpret historical images, and learn to see Hong Kong’s past from multiple angles.

Guest Speakers:
Prof. Kwong Chi Man (Chair, Department of History of the Hong Kong Baptist University)
Mr. Alan Wong (Property brochure collector)
